‘The Lost Town of Garrison’ Book Event Rescheduled for May 25

May 25, 2024 — 1:00 to 3:00 pm

Location: Carnahan Creek Church Building

Calling all Blue Valley history buffs. Do you ever wonder what life was like in the Blue Valley before Tuttle Creek Reservoir was built?

Wonder what if the “Big Dam Foolishness” protestors had swayed President Eisenhower, U.S. Congress, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to adopt alternative floodplain methods?

Author Eric Reynolds has done more than wonder. He has written a time-travel historical fiction novel entitled, “The Lost Town of Garrison.”
The Carnahan-Garrison Cemetery south of Olsburg is the portal for Reynold’s time-travel character in the book.
And now, Carnahan Creek Church will host a book talk with Reynolds on Saturday, May 25, 1-3 p.m.

All are welcome. Descendants and former residents of the Garrison, Carnahan Creek, and other lost Blue Valley communities have been invited to share their stories. We welcome any photos, articles, or mementos of Garrison, Carnahan Creek, and the Blue Valley that participants can bring and share.

Admission is free. Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author. Donations are welcome for repair and painting of the historical Carnahan Creek Church building.

We can’t change history, but we can honor and repeat the stories of the Blue Valley’s treasured place in time.
